Convert 24 p

I have never had good luck converting 24 to 25. It ended up looking really choppy every time I did it. Then again whenever I did, it wasn't intentional.

Whenever I'm encoding media I either drop the footage into a FCP timeline, use Adobe Media Encoder, or (as a last resort) throw it into VisualHub.

I think the think is normally to run it at the wrong speed ie 96% or 104%

that is an easy convesion using cinema tools->batch conform in FCP

Of course if you say had two synched cams, running at different FPS (by mistake) then you will need to actually retime, which will be harder

I think 24p movies are regularly broadcast too fast 25p/50i in the uk

You can do this with After Effects. The simplest way is to reinterpret the footage at the frame rate you want, then render it out from AE. That will make a frame-for-frame conversion, with little quality loss.
