F5: Convergent Design ups the ante. Two Free 256GB SSD's with Odyssey 7Q+ purchase

I keep reading about a lot of problems people are having with the Shogun....teething pains, maybe? For the time being, the O7Q is the only way to go.

Hi Mitch
i just realized that the regular dealers for the Odyssey 7Q+ here in Japan do not have this promotion going on.
It sales for about 3000 USD (350.000 JPY) unit only, without any disk.

More troubling is that they don't even mention its compatibility with the FS7...somebody didn't get the memo ;)

Mitch, just curious if there are any promotions going on at CD if a user already is a happy owner of a 7Q and want to purchase a 2nd 7Q+ aside from the (2) two 256gb SSD cards. I previously had purchased an AXS-R5 to record RAW and 240fps (2K) on my F5 and since have also purchased the CBK-55PD board for the F5 to enable internal ProRes and DnX-HD. Now that I added an FS7 to the mix with the XDCA back, it seems the right way to go for having a 2nd 7Q (plus) to enable RAW and 240fps on it as well. The lack of an DnX-HD option on the 7Q+ doesn't bother me too much since my clients usually request either ProRes or XAVC anyway.

For a current owner of an Odyssey7Q, purchasing an Odyssey7Q+ as an additional monitor/recorder entitles him/her to the benefits of the Owner Loyalty Program. Purchase the Odyssey7Q+ and register it on the Convergent Design website. You will receive an email to execute your Loyalty Program benefits.

Owner Loyalty Program benefits:
- Warranty extension for original Odyssey7Q until 1/1/2017
- All Record Options purchased on Odysey7Q duplicated onto Odyssey7Q+. Both devices keep options forever.
- $500 Website store credit, transferrable to someone else as you wish.

Note that the CBK-55PD board you purchased for you camera gives you ProRes recording, but only in HD. Should you wish to record 4K, UHD or 2K ProRes from your upgraded F5 you can do so using the SDI outputs into your Odyssey7Q or Odyssey7Q+.

Thanks for the reply Mitch. I just ordered the 7Q+ as a 2nd unit for my FS7 and will register for the OLP when I receive it and can provide the serial# to CD to get the license fee reduction for RAW. It's a great product and a much less expensive alternative to the AXS-R5 and the other items needed (AXS media) to record RAW. Looking forward to the future DnX-HD option, but both units are fine as they currently are anyway.
