This is correct. When you register on the website you will then receive information about the Loyalty Program.

You sent an email inquiry to Convergent Design and did not get a response? Can you please forward me that email?

Here's an odd question, Mitch. I ordered my 7Q+ from a company that said they had them in stock but it turns out now that they don't but have a like-new rental unit they could send me instead so I get it asap. They say they didn't execute the loyalty program on it and they'll just turn the next 7Q+ they receive from CD into their rental unit if I buy theirs. I can definitely still transfer ownership of a used 7Q+ and get the loyalty program on it as well, right? It doesn't have to be on a brand new 7Q+ for any reason, does it? No potential issues to worry about? Is there some way to confirm their used unit will still be eligible for the loyalty program besides taking their word and trying it when it arrives?

You and the seller should be in contact with Erich at our main office so that we can make sure everything is handled appropriately.

Thanks, actually I ended up getting in touch with Amber who straightened everything out.

And of course today I had to figure out if I was still eligible for the free 2x256GB SSDs on my order which I am :) Not sure how CD is making money these days though! I suppose it keeps the money coming in if they can use their overstock of 256GB SSDs to get people to still buy 7Q+'s instead of a used 7Qs or a shogun.

Then again who's gonna buy my used 7Q and SSDs when you can get a 7Q+ with free SSDs :(

Yup. This is a b***f*** from CD.

This company just keeps on disappointing me and afterwards giving me something nice. Rollercoaster deluxe!

Another way you could look at it is that as of today you will own two more 256G SSDs then you did yesterday, so you could choose to include some memory with the sale of your Odyssey7Q to sweeten the deal. We are giving you more, not less, so you now have that much more with which to work.

Well there are always buyers out there.......the trick is agreeing on a price :)

No i dont. I have ZERO need for 7Q+.

FS7 have 10bit internal so i dont need an extra unit.

This is at least a 500 dollar loss for me right there, in your offer.

Thanks.

How is it a $500 loss for you? Frankly the loyalty offer is so good that you might as well get the 7Q+ anyway just to get a nearly free upgrade to a device that is worth $500 more just to increase your asset value. Basically if you own a 7Q right now and want to increase it's value, you might as well just upgrade to the 7Q+ and sell your 7Q since a 7Q+512GB+$500GC+FSRAW is probably worth more used than a 7Q+ new.

Right now your 7Q + FSRAW + 512GB (I assume you have about this much SSD) is worth around $2600 used, but if you buy a 7Q+ for another $2300 you get an added $500GC+2x256GB+FSRAW for free, and only have to sell your 7Q+FSRAW+SSD+$500GC for $2300 to cover the cost and you got your 7Q+ upgrade for free. You can probably get more than that for it, which results in a profit, and you end up with a basically brand new 7Q+ + SSDs + FSRAW which is worth $3100 new or a bit less like-new, but certainly more than your original kit.

What's great about it is that people buying used 7Q's also win because you don't have to sell your 7Q for that much to make it work as long as they want your $500GC and/or FSRAW, even if they don't want one or the other and just take it anyway, you can still all get a pretty good deal.

Im looking to removing the O7Q from my equipment alltogether.

Internal recording on the FS7 is much better than external. Especially when you are shooting out from a backpack high in the mountains. Bring a tent.

I have zero intentions of buying the 7Q+.

Yeah I suppose buying and selling a bunch of equipment isn't for everyone, but in this case it might be worth your while. I thought about just getting an FS7, but there are still things about the FS700 that I prefer. I shoot a fair amount of stuff that requires switching in and out of normal speed, S&Q, and SSM really quickly, which you can't do on an FS7, and the 7Q+ is a pretty handy monitor to have in general with the multicam and camera matching and 4k a7s recording and I couldn't justify it with an FS7. Also holding out hope for 4k 120fps burst prores LT recording from the FS700 on the 7Q/7Q+... if that doesn't happen and if the FS7 firmware gets a lot better for quickly switching modes and fixing the odd bugs I might consider it again :)

Im switching as soon as a job comes along that requires internal recording (fast setup in remote locations) and weather sealing (outdoors).

How long does FS7 take to switch high speed normal speed modes?

7Q+ comes with two 256GB SSDs now? That's an incredible deal!! I wish I could upgrade, but I'm still paying for the 7Q :\

Oh well, it serves me well and I don't have any cameras that output4K over HDMI anyway.

What can I possibly say to this? The world moves forward. If you don't need or want your Odyssey7Q then sell it. If you decided that you didn't want it on a Monday then you should have been trying to sell it on Tuesday. ANY product will devalue in time in some way, and even if it does not then it represents unused equity value sitting on your shelf. Sell it and by a government bond, at least that gains value.

These are tools. Buy it to use it. If it does what you need then you don't need anything else. If you don't need it sell it. And if we come along with a program to help people get from something they don't need as much to something they could use more, then I don't think it is fair to make that into a bad thing.

I can't believe that we decided to give something to people and now I have to defend it. Talk about a no-win situation.

Here, here! I think shipping the drives with the 7Q+ was a great idea. Kudos to you all at CD for taking that step. I'm seeing lots of people happy with their purchases over social media. The naysayers seem to be in the minority.

I am a happy 7Q early adopter - just celebrated my 1-year anniversary of getting my device and it's been a really fun year rediscovering my camera.

So if I understood.

Now, in European country, if we have already a 7q, we can buy an 7q+ (with 2ssd free), sold our 7q with ssd, keep the raw firmware on both odyssey even if the 7q is not on my name anymore ? The 7q have 1 year more for free, and the 7q+ have 500$ on the webstore of CD ? (I don't found the link, is it not yet online ?)

Thanks, because with the 2 ssd include, it's a really good deal for upgrade.

The 7Q has been the worst monetary investment ive ever made.

First, the product did not work as advertized for well over half a year. Then you devalue the item with the release of a replacement. And then you put up an insanely good deal on this new item, making the 7Q used value plummet to the floor with a face palm.

I am thinking about swapping out FS700+7Q with a FS7. Any sweetening of the 7+ will just harm me directly. Ofcourse i react negatively to that. Thats money lost for me.
