Convergent 7Q Rebuild Error ERR=9 Only 2 Folders to see

I discover a real weird issue with the 7Q. Hopefully someone can help me right now, cause I need to empty the HHDs of 7Q now for a shooting tonight.
I cant find all clips on the HDD when I connected to my PC. The HDD is complete full. (~470GB) I can see and watch all files on the 7Q , but If I connected I only can see 2 folders. I have a newest firmware, and I extra manual safe eject the drives, usually I dont have to. But anyway, Only two folders with 3 files to see..Any Idea what to do?

As well I tried the "rebuild option" because don´t know what else to do, I get a Err = 9 "Unsuccsessfull Safe Eject" - restarted it etc. As well I again manual safe eject it, "sucsessfully"..but still the same...I can see all files with the 7Q but ony theses 2 folders connected to the PC..

Is ther any workaround?

EDIT:

It s "solved"... I called Dan. What I did is, that I put the SSD on the computer , copy them, and left the files on the harddrive. To have a "back up" Next day return to another shoot without formated the 7Q Hdds and that creates that problem. Now I know. Thanks Dan for the phone support! Now I have to format the HDD and loose the new files, but lucky me , it wasnt or isnt that very big drama to loose that new recordings..but be warned! Maybe I should know, I think I remember that Convergent is saying seomthing like that...

It is important to always download ALL files (r at least all files you wish to keep) when you mount an Odyssey SSD to a computer. It is also important to reformat the SSD when you place it back on the Odyssey monitor/recorder.

Computers add hidden files to an SSD the moment you mount them. These files will interfere with the continued use of the SSD, and you may lose material irrecoverably.

Once you are to the step of mounting the SSD on a computer, copy everything you want off that SSD.

Once you mount that SSD back on an Odyssey, reformat it immediately.

Wow, I had no idea this was a thing. Many times I've offloaded footage, put the ssd back in the 7Q and kept recording without formatting. (I must be lucky so far!) Like saw above, I often choose to do this so there is a double backup until I get back to the editing work station after the shoot.

For the pure sake of reducing user error (that could lead to catastrophic data loss no less!), shouldn't the 7Q be made to do checks for these "hidden files" and avoid things like this? It should be at least warning you that the files you are about to record will probably be unrecoverable unless you format no? But it just sits there quietly and lets you do it.

I can't recall reading that this error could happen in the manual. If this is a thing it should either been in big red letters somewhere, or simply erradicated from being allowed to happen at all in the device!

Every camera I've ever used you can just keep recording without issue as long as there is space left on the media, so this is an ingrained user practice for maximum data protection. What I'm getting at is that it's not an obvious or intuitive thing to expect the Odyssey to destroy files in this way. Or did I just miss the memo? Even if I did, I still feel like it's absolutely crazy that this could even be remotely possible to happen in the device with no warning! The only safety net here is user knowledge which seems like a poor or negligent design decision.

same here, Kyron! I often check one shoot on the computer immediately and put the SSD back and start shooting again. I always thought it's good to have the files on the computer and on the SSD both. If I have to re-formate the SSD after each connection with a computer the usage of larger SSDs is obsolete for me.

Only used the Odyssey a few times now, but I have also just placed the SSDs back in the unit after backing-up and continued recording - it hasn't caused issues so far. But if it has the potential to cause problems then I guess I'll have to re-think my workflow. At least as FS700 users we also have the SD card recordings as back-up.
