I am new to Controller box. What I would like to accomplish is this.
I would like to use more than 1 camera at once. I want to record the footages to my hd probably using firewire cable. I want all the camera coonected to the controller box and I have the power wich footage i want to record. I do not want the camera record it to to the tapes. I know this is possible but what controller biox I should buy.
Thanks

Sounds like you are looking for a "video mixer" or "video switcher".
Depending on the situation you will need other gear too. You will need monitors to see the picture from the cameras, you will need an audio mizer to handle audio. and you'll need somethign to record the mix. Depending on teh location that youa re shooting in will effect how you connect the gear and what sort of mixer you need. The type of shoot wil also effect the gear you get.

Tell us some specifics of your shoot and we can make some recomendations.

You are right I think I need video mixer or video switcher. I want to shoot wedding or group band. With wedding I want to finish the footage the next day or at same day. I would like to cut my editing time. So if you have the link where to look or to buy let me know.
Do video mixer can record to hd?
Thanks

Run some searches for "video mixer" and "multicamera" and you shoudl get some good information.

It's a very broad topic.

No most video mixers dont' ahve a built in hard drive. you would need a VCR, or some sort of seperate hard drive recorder.

You need a switcher of how many cams? In the budget range, Edirol makes one for 2-inputs. 4-inputs switchers from companies such as Panasonic Datavideo or Focus Enhancements are available but are bit more expensive. You can always elect to go the video toaster or tricaster route from Newtek (you can record on a hard drive with those ones) but depending on options they can become a bit pricey.
