Hi folks,
I noticed that a lot of guys started to ask for controlled side by side comparisons of the original and the hacked GH1.
I tried my best in a controlled way (using tripod, fixed camera settings, etc...) to shoot exactly the same scene (a pan) and provide this comparison.
Fellow Viennese Filmmaker Nino Leitner offered to post my findings on his blog (screenshots, 200% crops, etc...):

It took me about 15 mins to swap the firmware, hence the light had a changed a tiny bit.
I used PappasArt's settings for MJPEG (1440x1080p), and jobless' "safe" settings for AVCHD. Interestingly, I only had a cheap buffalo 16GB class 6 card available, and had no issues with both MJPEG and AVCHD in this comparison.
I have an early japanese NTSC GH1 (now patched to german - thanks tester13!!!).
Later I went into the woods and experienced occasional freezing in about 10% of the highest detail shots, mainly with the MJPEG.
What should I say, the results speak for themselves. Big Thanks to Tester13 and all the other brave testers here.
Let me know if someone needs the original files.
best regards, Gunther
