Continuous timecode recording between dv tapes

hey folks. I've got a gig shooting tomorrow--using a dvx100b--the current videographer on the project tells me he's been creating a continuous timecode between 3 dv tapes during the shoot. He said he'd show me how, but my curiosity was piqued, started reading...and haven't figured it out yet. So far I'm thinking you might do it by seting the timecode preset to the previous tape's ending timecode display...but I think there might be a more elegant way to achieve...somehow saving the timecode numbers at the end of one tape and applying them to the beginning of the next tape? It's definitely not one of my stronger suits--so I throw out to you most wise...any ideas?

It's been a while since I've used a 100b, but as I recall, if you're cam is set for REC RUN, it will be continuous when recording from tape to tape. The timecode won't reset unless you manually do it. You set the initial tc to whatever you want and it keeps running from there when recording. I'm sure if this is not correct, someone will correct me.

Anyway, this post is after your shoot, so let us know how you made out.
