Continuing issues with avid and hvx p2

Ok - so i got hit with this issue again - its happened before and its really a major issue.

I have been editing with hd clips from the p2 from the hvx. I follow the procedure of copying into the media file dir and loading via media tool.

This has been working well.

BUT - now i copied some files in which are the same format. I open avid - and it doesnt show those clips in the media tool - it shows all the old ones but i cannot get it to recognize the new one.

This is a MAJOR issue since a lot of editing is incremental with footage - why wont it find the new clips?

i solved it by granting all permissions to those files to all users on the machine - i dont know why that effected it - the other files worked fine - but the permissions change solved it - hope this helps someone else

Thanks for the heads up Smelni. Knowing avid, I'm sure this will save me some weekend sitting around scraching my head saying "WTF".

I just figured out the reason why Avid would only play back after a fresh reboot. I would start working take a break listen to winamp. Which was set to "always on top" which avid treated as on top of the playback window. Yeah that shut me down for about 4 hours.
