Contest Video

Short and sweet, i like it. Maybe add some proper motion graphics to it...some text...and i think the audio narration needs to be cleaned up if possible...

Could you please be more specific in what you mean by cleaning up? Do you think it should be re-recorded, or is there something in Post I could do to help it out? Was the speech understandable enough?

I don't know much at all about audio, and the setup I was using for the voice over was a pain to work with. That was the best voice over take I could get as far as not blowing on the mic while saying letters like "P".

I really appreciate it. Thanks.

The voice over pretty sounded good to me. What did you use? I have heard a HELL of a lot worse before. I don't see any need to do anything to it.

I used some little Sony microphone that my dad has from a tape recorder a long time ago. That plugged into a camcorder.

Thank ya.

Looked ok.

Was this for the Panasonic video comp? I thought that ended already.

Anyways, I think your colors could be a thousand times better. I would suggest playing with a 3-way color corrector or Magic Bullet if you have access. The edit was nice, but I think the 5-0 at the end should be smooth... maybe even slow-mo. The whole piece is about them setting up this thing in anticipation of being able to skate it, so the viewer wants a payoff in the end as well.

I would definitely kill the music when the guy hits the 5-0 and leave the "that's what it's all about" line. It will be much more dramatic.

Overall a good piece. Could be better, though.

There are two chances to enter for the contest. The first one's already ended.
As for the colors, I already did a little color correction on all of it. The compression seems to have made it look a little bit less contrasty. What do you think should be changed specifically for the color correction?

I appreciate the suggestions. I'll play around with them. Thanks.

I would really boost the contrast and really make those yellows sing. Take a look at the greens in the trees as well. It would look cool to see more depth and contrast in those black areas with some saturation to the green.

You are going to want your submission to really stand out. It doesn't have to be outrageous and extravagant, but it could use a lot more style.
