This is the MMJ version. For those who don't know much about contax, they are the widely known as some of the very best glass available out there these days. They are easily adaptable (you can even directly change the mounts on the so you don't have to deal with adapters), they have manual aperture, they focus in the "correct" cinema direction, have long focus throws, are very well built, and have BEAUTIFUL bokeh and classical zeiss microcontrast/rendering, as well as great sharpness.
Known by many as one of the very best bargains in the Contax line. This thing is SHARP straight from f2.8. Has alot of punch, gives you that great extra reach over a 85mm, a great lens for portraits. It has that unique mixture of being very sharp, yet organic and easy on faces.
There are no issues at all optically, and mechanically the original ebay seller I purchased from listed this as:
"Everything is in working condition. The f-stop, zoom and focus rings all turn smoothly and freely. The aperture opens and closes crisply and there is no oil on the blades. The lens elements have no scratches, fungus, haze or separation, just a few dust specks inside."
However, the focus feels a little firmer than other contax glass I have. Not sure if this is just a characteristic of the 135mm though, as it is alot of glass i'm sure to move when focusing.
Will try and get some pictures up here soon, but just wanted to get a head start on listing this beauty.
Comes with contax end cap, but generic front.
Regretfully selling, as I am trying to free up some money for future projects. Going to have to resort to renting lenses for when I have shoots instead of keeping these lenses around.
This lens will adapt to most any system, in fact can't think of a popular camera system off the top of my head that doesn't adapt to contax. You could even use this with the new C/Y to Sony speedbooster to make it faster and wider.
Payment accepted as "gift" or add 3% as a normal payment.
