Constant problem

Hello all,
Recently my DVX100b has been giving me the following message ... Auto-Off T-Reel Lock. I've searched the forums and I'm not liking what I'm finding. From what I've found it is either a tape problem, or my baby is a lemon. I've read a lot supporting both problems, and I think my heart is going to explode.

Has anyone had this particular problem, and what was the fix. Thanks all.

Here are some details...
- New DVX100b
- 4 Months Old
- Just started to happen about two weeks ago
 
Had the EXACT same problem. Unfortunately mine happened in the middle of a 12 day trip to Japan...so you can imagine my frustration. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, but it seems to be a fairly easy fix. From my understanding, the auto off t-reel lock is a "safety" when the tape reel itself breaks. I'm assuming this is to keep the tape from unwinding inside of the tape transport and potentially damaging the heads/etc...

Contact Panasonic's service center. I sent mine in, and had it back within three days. And there has been no problems since. They'll have you leave a note with the camera when you send it in describing the problem. Also be sure to leave a battery and a blank tape for them (you will get both back) so they can make sure everything is fixed. I'm not really sure if it's necessary to include the tape, but they told me to send everything needed to recreate the problem.

You should still be under warranty also since it's only 4 months old.
