Connecting monitor to camera question

Yet another stupid question. Just got JVC 910 SU monitor, and since I have never used monitor before, don't know how to connect to camera. Monitor has RCA plugs for only audio, has BNC connectors for video (which dvx does not have, as far as I can tell), and has what looks like S-video connection, which dvx100 does have. Is that what I should use to connect?

Have pity on me, I beg of you.

Re: Connecting monitor to camera question

S-video will yield the best results.

However, you can also buy a pro BNC cable and put an RCA adapter on the end that plugs into your camera's RCA video-out jack.

or...

You could use an RCA cable connected to your camera and put a BNC adapter on the end that plugs into your monitor.

So many options... :)

Re: Connecting monitor to camera question

thanks to you as well. In an attempt to educate myself, can someone tell me what the BNC connectors are normally used for, and what the heck is a "bridge connection?" The instructions state that the bridge connections are possible with the BNC, Y/C, and audio terminals.

Re: Connecting monitor to camera question

BNC is pretty standard in the pro video arena, and on alot of field monitors thats your only option. They are just a superior locking version of an RCA connector. and a bridge connection is like what it sounds, it bridges two connetions.
