Connecting HVX200e to a PC

So, I've been trying to connect my HVX200e to my PC without any luck!

I have the 1394 wire connected to the firewire port of my PC, I turn the camera ON, I press the mode button to change to VCR, I run Premier Pro, go to Capture and I get "The capture device is Offline"

I've tried connecting it to different ports but still it doesn't get recognized by the computer.

I know it's not a problem with the cable/the wire/the software or the computer in general cz I've already connected 2 other cameras using MiniDV cassettes and it worked perfectly.

So..is there another option I can tweak?

@sheittanis -- Did you ever figure out this problem? I always captured tape from my HVX200 (using a firewire -- you were right -- USB only works with P2 card) and suddenly awhile ago my computer stopped recognizing my camera. I tried another firewire in case that was the problem, but the camera does not even register on my computer now when I plug it in. When I try to capture in Premiere Pro it just gives me the "Device is offline".

I had somebody borrowing the camera and so maybe it was a settings change, but I think I've tried everything...

I'm pretty sure u can't connect miniDV with a USB... it's just for the P2 card.

Didn't notice the reference to VCR mode. I never even think of the HVX as a DV camera. Apologies. Your firewire port on the camera may be blown. It does happen.
