Conflict For Movie

Wait? What was her secret? Why was she standing over the dying principal (or was it really her?)? We have to know the secret so we know why Nathan is willing to help her get away and fight to save her.
 
You could do a Montague/Capulet thing and make the conflict NOT towards each other but their families. Maybe his father or grandfather wronged her father or grandfather. In business? Maybe the father stole her fathers girl, etc. etc. etc.

I'd give ya the idea, but you'd have to completely change the story... I thought the girl was popular... But its the guy thats popular... heh...
 
No, make her name Victoria and call the film... Victoria

Crying Game part 2? I'm just thinking out loud...
 
She's Persian and her parents have promised to marry her to a rich family from Iran when she turns 18. She falls for this boy but her loyality to her family and tradition makes her resist. You can throw in some local Persian boys and and the "high standard" boys already having tension and you have a modern edgy re-telling of West Side Story/Romeo & Juliet....and every other teenage tragedy.

It's all been done before but teenage movies tend to have the highest tolerence for recycling as kids haven't seen or read as much so it seems new to them. Throw in a popular hot chick and dude and you it's money in the bank.

Here's the deal. While she really is a man, she's actually a lizard man.

Now, Nathan, struggling to deal with the fact that she has a lower GPA than him, must also accept the fact that she is a lizard man and a serial killer. Meanwhile, she's trying to get her GPA up one more point, but when the principal reveals that he's been having an affair with the lizard man serial killer, she fails a math test and now his love is truly put to the test. Can he see through her shell of a lower GPA to really fall in love with the serial killing lizard man she truly is?
 
The guy falling in love with the geeky girl... soon discovers that there are 5 other guys just like him falling for the same girl. It becomes a competition between the preppy cool guys to get the unpopular girl.....and they are all mistreated by the popular kids because she is such an "unpopular" girl.

And so they join forces (all five of them) to gain her undivided love. And disown the popular crowd.
 
Or they can play cat and mouse in the first two acts of the film with Jen pushing away at every turn. Why is she pushing away you ask? Well at the end of act two we find out that she is a ladyboy (look it up if you don't know what it is; but I warn you to be alone when you do it) and is worried as to how Nathan will handle it.

However, the big reveal in act three is that Nathan is a pre-op transvestite. So in order to help their daughter find happiness Jen's privileged parents help pay for his surgery and their marriage.
