Hi! I have been lurking for some weeks this forums. Nice place. I jumped into DV a lot of time ago, I have a Panasonic AG-EZ1, great DV camera, no Firewire. I read Jan Crittend's posts in the DV-List, a long time ago...

I see some confusion in the air. People talk about things Panasonic doesn't mention anywhere. Jan, can you confirm this questions:

a) Does it record 1080p??? I always see 1080i and 720p...

b) Can you use any external Firewire hard-drive and skip P2?? (bandwith permitting)

a) Yes. 1080p30 and 1080p24 are ProgressiveSegmentedFrames in an Interlaced datastream.

b) We think so. Details are sketchy. We do not yet know if the camera has a built-in DTD
(Direct-To-Disk) technology integrated or if there will be a Firestore-type device with the protocol.
