Looking for some tips/advice on my setup. My renders (simple talking heads, some shadows and moving type) just seem to take a little more longer than expected. Let me know if you see anything I can adjust to get more power. As in AE has multiprocessing and RAM adjuster..

It depends on what your sequence settings area, video codec, cam and how the video was brought into FCP.

based on the machine stats is it a monster or just a lightweight compared to others??
Also what would the perfect scenario be:
get footage, convert to whatever codec (Apple Pro res...) then bring into FCP and set your sequence to that as well?

I guess it would be nice to compare (simplified) some others workflow. Anyone care to share a basic "from tape to FCP including codecs and sequence settings?

When are you required to render?

After adding fx, titling, CC or what?

usually after adding txt, or solid colors etc, but when rendering in the timeline is seems ok but when rendering out to a file it just seems really slugish
