conferences in europe

Hi all -

Not sure if this is the right board to be posting in, but I'm based in the UK and trying to find some conferences that are aimed at the commercial videographer.

Problem is, whenever I google it, I get back either events for broadcast stuff or software for people to do video conferencing. I'm essentially a web developer
getting back into video and there's a load of great web conferences I go to, but seem to be a lack of video stuff. I'm doing small scale corporate/local business videos
and was hoping there was something out there for the likes of me, preferably in Europe.

Ideas very much appreciated!

Try IBC in Amsterdam. More than you would ever dream of probably.

Thanks - I saw that but seemed a bit too higher end for me - Im not doing broadcast stuff for example. Also, I'm sure it's good value but still a little steep!

There is the
BCS, BVE, and Media Production show (12-13 June, Olympia) all in London. Some stuff at the photography show at the NEC in Brum.

The thing is these are professional shows aimed at professionals who spend money and suppliers who have things to sell. What you want will be at the "low" end of the shows mentioned. There is not enough money in the cheap semi-pro home user market to warrant a separate show. the cost of running an event is EXPENSIVE and no one will put one on unless they are damned certain they will make a profit at it.

So go to these events. It usually costs nothing to get in. I also do videos for local businesses and conferences and find these shows very useful. Actually bought some lights at the last one and the discount I got more than covered any costs of going to the event. (that said I was going specifically to look for lights)
