Concerned with Zoom ring

I just bought my DVX100a and am very happy with it, I had already shot some shorts with it and loved it. My concern is that the zoom ring on my camera feels a little loose (it jiggles just a little bit, like its not snug). Its really not a big problem, just checking if its normal or if theres something to be done. And another thing, whenever I switch to SERVO zoom, I hear a fairly loud CLICK before the first zoom movement, is that normal?

That click is just the servo re-engaging with the ring. That's normal. Try this once: switch to manual zoom, make a few moves, then switch back to servo. With your hand GENTLY turn the zoom ring about 1mm (DON'T REALLY TURN THE RING) and you'll hear the same click as the teeth realign.
