Conan The Barbarian - Summer 2011

Watched about 15 minutes of this on cable...and it was the worst 15 minutes I've seen in quite some time. Awful.

Watched it on a plane a few months ago. Easily one of the worst films of 2011.

To put it in perspective, I thought Scorpion King was better.

I wouldn't go that far, but I'd definitely meet you halfway. It had a cool scene or two at the start but then he grew up and forgot how to act. I suspect the few good bits were all 2nd unit...

My friend and I went to see it just for s--ts and giggles, and we both agreed that the opening with the kid version of Conan was way better than the rest of the movie. If they'd just kept going with the kid, I would've probably liked the movie.

Momoa was cast well but really was a case of things falling apart at the script stage. I hope they make a second how it should be.

Gave this a shot on Netflix. Batutta was right, about 15 minutes of completely un-fun solid violence and overdone blood splattering was about as far as I got before I started scanning through to see if it ever improved.

Main character didn't seem to have any sense of humor or other redeeming qualities. Ron Perlman. Morgan Freeman?!?!? Cliche and unnecessary black sidekick. Everybody just had weird-ass hair... didn't look archaic, just self-consciously weird.

Those involved should contemplate their mistakes upon the Tree of Woe.
