Computer System

but all in all, priority should be (this is actually a question)

1. Processor speed
2. Ram
3. Graphix card

???

I'm not really qualified to comment on this, since I'm not a computer savy kinda guy, BUT...

I'm doing some research before I make the plunge for a new PC (HP brand home computer) and from the info I've absorbed from some techie friends, they say that:

processor speeds (AMD Athlon) don't vary that much beyond 2.4ghz.

RAM should be first on the list of priorities (min 2 gig, isolated and dedicated)

graphics card should be best I can afford, above 7600.

So, its:

1) RAM
2) Processor
3) Graphics

My question is: Do I need smarter friends?

Hey Bartender... A round for my DVX friends!
Matt

As a retired IT professional of more years than I care to admit to, I would say you have good friends.

Thanks BenB.
I just thought I would double check on my friends opinions before I finally decide on a system. It's not that I doubt their expertise BUT... I've watched them "experiment" with things before, and sometimes they THINK after they SPEAK, which sometimes isn't the prettiest picture... hahaha

Hey Bartender... I'm stone cold sober over here... Your break is over!
Matt
