Computer recommendations

Will be using the following:

- (2) Panasonic AG-HVX200 in December 2005
- firestore
- shoot in 1080/24p
- ENG/documentary/short film work, etc
- Shure Boom

I plan to buy:

- Intel dual Xeon processor 3.2mhz w/windows xp pro
- 2 gig DDR2 Ram

Which one:

- Video card for dual display
- LCD monitors - 16X9
- Min 1TB storage, should I do RAID 5, SCSI, SATA. Don't know if a RAID system will be necessary.
- Avid Express Studio HD or other Avid nle.

I plan to shoot/edit all in HD at 1080/24p

Opinons only:

- Video card for dual display - Nvidia Quadro FX 1400

- LCD monitors - 16X9 - Whatever you like. If price was no object I'd have Apple Cinmea HD Displays.

- Min 1TB storage, should I do RAID 5, SCSI, SATA. Don't know if a RAID system will be necessary. - RAID 0 or RAID 0+1. RAID 5 will give you no speed advantage which is something that you will need with HD footage. SCSIs are faster, but in my opinion not that much faster than SATA to warrant the price difference.

- Avid Express Studio HD or other Avid nle. - This is really personal preference. I'm not sure what kind of budget you have or what kind of work you'll be doing. Xpress Pro is certainly a capable editor, but Media Composer Adrenaline does offer more bang. You'll just have to decide what you need.
