computer monitor flicker

I need to shoot a job where there are computer screens in the background.
What is the proper way to shoot 24p without having the monitors flicker?

Usually I find that a shutter speed of 1/60 will help. If it doesn't, the synchro scan function should be used to find the exact shutter speed that will eliminate flicker/roll. Or maybe you'll get lucky and they'll be LCDs and you won't have to worry about it.

I think if you shoot with shutter at 1/60 and set the monitor's refesh rate to 60Hz, you'll be good to go.

Best way (as suggested above) is to use the synchro scan feature. If possible, find out what refresh rates the monitors are working on (often 60hz), and set your synchro scan to around that value. You have to try and see where it stops rolling. If you don't know what refresh rate they use just turn on your synchro scan and change it until you have minimum flickering.

As mentioned before, if they are using LCD-displays your life gets alot easier since you don't have to bother about it, they simply don't flicker on video!
