Hey all,

Have had my iMac for about 3 years now and it's been great.

Lately its been funny. I'll have itunes running and safari running.. I'll click safari to brwose and the screen freezes. The colored wheel comes up for 10-15 seconds then it goes away and all is fine...I'll click back to iTunes and it does it again!

I'll quit both programs and the computer is fine but will do it again at random times.

Right now I'm editing in Final Cut and have safari open. I'll do a render and switch to Safari and it'll do the freeze again.

I just updated everything on my computer.

As I write this, the colored wheel came up for 5 seconds then went away..

I have about 25 gigs of space left on my computer, and the computer has 4 gigs of RAM. 3.06 GHz processor.

What could be the problem?

Nevermind, it's still buggered. Really slow. What's going on? Keeps freezing and I have to shut down Safari and FCP.
 
Hmmm... first try the apple hardware test. Google it. If everything checks out OK with hardware test, I used to use disk warrior every few months on my old macs, and it seemed to do wonders that disk utility couldn't. See if they have a free trial and give it a try.
