I finished up project and im putting it on the web and id like to burn dvds as well.

When i export using compressor, compressor opens fine and i make a DVD export and a web export and when i click submit i keep getting "unable to connect to background process" errors. I tried rebooting both apps, the computer and in compressor resetting "the background process" And nothing works!

Whats going on?

I have same issue. I Binged the problem and found one item on it that involves a lot of trashing installation files and re-installing fcp. Ugh.

Trashing the .plist is a good thought. Compressor in FCS2 has a known issue with background processing, and often the easy fix is to launch Compressor on its own and go to Compressor>Reset Background Processing.

That said, I've never been a fan of using Compressor within FCP. It's slow, it's clunky, and it's often buggy. Export a self-contained FCP movie at current project settings, then use Compressor as a standalone app to compress your files.
