I have everything on 1080 highest bit rate. Look at the minister and the amount of artifacting, then look at the groom which I shot in same lighting on my GH2 with a nikon 80-200 lens, looks so much cleaner! Both AVCHD! What gives?
I'm not really seeing excessive artifacting on that thumbnail-sized image, but it seems like you could've increased exposure on the HMC150 by another stop or two which might help with noise in the shadow areas.
It's not a good comparison either way, as the HMC footage looks like a center crop of a wider shot whereas the GH2 is shot much closer up, the angle of the GH2 provides better lighting compared to the flatness of the HMC shot, and the HMC shot has a ton of detail in focus and we already know that the imagers are not full raster whereas the GH2 footage has a fair bit out of focus and is generally a sharper camera altogether.
The screen grabs are different dimensions: The HMC screen grab is 518x280 and the GH2 is 620x265. The dimensions are not identical, which they should be for an accurate comparison.
I own both cameras and love each one for different reasons. The GH2, however, is ALWAYS going to look better in every way except for rolling shutter.
