Component to DVI

Just wondering if anyone has tried this thing:

Seems like it's able to convert the HVX's component signal to DVI for display on a flatpanel. Just wondering what the quality is like before I put my order in.

Mine is white instead of black, and was sold under a different brand name, but looks *identical* in every way.

It works great! I have a standard consumer 18" LCD (1280x1024 res) that will display pixel-perfect monitoring for 720p.

I don't have access to a true 1080i LCD, though so I can't comment on that aspect.

A while back I was in touch with fellow DVXuser Christopher Barry who had also bought one, and had some issues with 1080i. You might get in touch with him for the details, as I can't remember them exactly.

Awesome Tony - thanks for the feedback. 720p monitoring is more than I need for critical focus pulling with the Redrock adapter. My Marshall is just a liiiiiittle hard to pull focus on at times.

Im contemplating this + the gateway 17" 720p monitor. bit cheaper, and if only doing 720p, works out nicely. overall $ about 334 for both the adapter and monitor. now if I can just get the PowerAll battery to run both of these... MUAHAHAHA

Gateway has a 22" widescreen LCD with component inputs that sells for $350 at Circuit City. I just purchased one and it's terrific. The resolution is 1680x1050.
