the red channel on my component out seems to have stopped sending signal, there for everything seems green I'm not sure whats wrong with it, I thought it was the crappy cable, but I got a new one and am having the same problem.

I find the connector on the camera on my comes loose easy because of the stupid clips. I wish it screwed on instead. Mine cuts out completely occasionally but never just one color stream.

I have had a couple components go out on me at the studio I work at. And in just the way you described. One was the red and another was the green or blue, I can't remember. In both of these cases it was the cable, I hooked up one of my cables form my camera and it was fine. I hope it turns out to be just a cable issue in your case.

the D-4 [ http://www.answers.com/topic/d-terminal-1?cat=technology ] connector to the camera is possibly the worst connector ever created.
-ok maybe that was a bit overkill, but you get my drift.

Whatever you do, make sure you stress relief the cable. If you dont, you'll be constantly plagued with connection problems once the cable gets tugged in any way.
In addition, the cable comes out of the camera right where my arm wraps around when shooting on sticks. Its just begging to be accidently snagged.

Good luck to you,
Mike

hey guys thanks for the responce, I'm affraid I jumped the gun a bit on my post, it seems its the monitor that lost the red input, I've ordered a hdmi to Component, to to hook into my d5 cable so I can still use the monitor at 720p. when it arrives I'll let you all know if it works.
