Complex titles in After Effects, help needed

Is there a way to do titles like the ones featured in this example below in after effects? I've shot some content for someone (which looks and sounds a lot better than in the example below) but I don't know how to go about creating any really nice looking titles, and my client really wants that.

I'm referring not only to the opening shot, but also to the moment after when we see the speakers name presented at the bottom of the screen.

There are numerous ways to do these
The ABO Title was done with the write-on effect ,
Vector paint with a track matte.

The name title was probably done with masked solid layers and the opacity and transfroms animated same for the name text.

Visit videocopilot or creativecow for some detailed tuturials :)

Looks like one of the templates in Motion. Both Live Type and Motion has these kinds of templates. You can do them in AE but its much easier to do them with a template in one of the packages that has them built in.

Good luck.

I ended up figuring a way out that I'm happy with. It's probably the "wrong way" in that it may be inefficient, but I've yielded pleasing results. I WOULD post footage but a lot of it is confidential due to business arrangements until the videos are published.
