Hey folks
just thought I'd share with you my first short that I've ever made.
I made this when I was 16 with a DVX100a.
It was all written, filmed, and edited and all of the music was written by us too.
This was the first time I ever used a DVX and real lighting.
I borrowed this camera from an art institute but am purchasing a DVX next month.
A GL2 and DVX were both used....

basically if any of you can give me any input on this, I know there are alot of proffessinals on this board so any input you can give to a knowledge absorbing highschool student would be great...

Dont be too harsh, Ive basically caught all the imperfections in the video, but didnt catch them at the time (I had no sleep for over 48 hours).

The criteria for this competition
had to be made in 48 hours or less, had to use the theme of escape, had to use a prop ( the security cam), and had to use the dialoge "I thought I'd be the first one to go"

dish out your comments

On technical merit, I would have to say not bad at all, coinsidering your inexperience.

Looks like the makings of a strong character...some of it works, some of it doesn't. The funny is FUNNY, and the unfunny is borderline offensive (like Jar Jar Binks) LOL
Try to figure out which is which, and avoid too much profanity--something that everyone is getting tired of..."Stick your thumb up my ass" is weird and quirky, but it doesn't really make laugh, and I knew the guy was weird and quirky before he said it.
But I love a strong character, whether comedic or dramatic, and with a little more thought to content and delivery you could easily slip this guy into a few more films.
keep on truckin'!...bussin...peace.
