Comparing the EX1R to the HVX

For those that have used both the HVX200 and the EX1, how would you guys compare them? How much of a low light performance increase is the EX1?

I have the HVX, and I think its low light and grain performance is very poor. Its up rezing chips aren't native-HD. Though the DVCPROHD codec is wonderful to edit with.

If I could sell the HVX200 with 20GB of P2 for around 3500 or 4000, would a $2300 to $2800 upgrade be worth it? I'm interested in a 1/3" to 1/2" chip upgrade (2/3" would be nice, but that's pushing $$$).

You are on the right track. The HVX really flogs it in low light and the uprez from 540 chips is ridiculous. It should never have been labeled an HD camera in the first place. Move up to the EX1 with 1/2" full 1080 chips, under/over crank. etc - you will not regret it - from a purely photographic standpoint.
