For the 3rd time on this thread I gotta agree with Giuseppe. Did you learn that you need to underexpose the F3 by a stop? I don't think that's true at all. You just need to expose it properly. I don't underexpose my F3 at all. Truth is we know nothing about what led to the F3 being apparently overexposed. We don't know the gamma, we don't know how they set exposure - whether they used a light meter or a monitor, etc. If they used a light meter to expose video that's a huge mistake from the get go.
I do know that I will probably have to field doubts from someone who saw this and thinks the F3 looks lousy compared to a Canon, and that the problem is the 8bit codec - all of which is false.
If a comparison test isn't done very carefully I don't think it tells you very much and just tends to create false impressions which unfortunately can give a camera a stigma. I'm also very dubious about the Zacuto tests because they appeared to be done very carefully but left out all the tests where the DSLR's would fall apart - probably part of the "care" I'm afraid.
That said - it ius very hard to do them well and you can learn something from them if you have a very skeptical eye. But it is dangerous to give them too much weight.
