Before I worked for Redrock Micro, I wrote/directed a sci-fi short using the M2 called 'Companion'. Post took forever, but it's done now, and I'm about to get the DVD replicated for cast and crew. It's won awards and even got pitched to NBC! We did it with a DVX100A + SD kit, but for vimeo purposes I faked an HD output to get the right aspect ratio. I posted the trailer because people seem to really dig it also.

I think it turned out really well, and it also illustrates lots of things you DON'T want to do with the M2 (and in general). Big props to all the people who were instrumental in getting it made (including Brian!). Questions about the process are welcome. Cheers!

Very nice. Not sure I follow the entire storyline, unless there's more, or it's left to keep us wondering?

The first scene, the two women we're not the best actors. They kind of bugged me. But aside from that it was pretty solid acting.

The music also kind of bugged me.

Great cinematography, editing, etc.

Who was the one that played the blonde agent? I could've sworn I worked with her but the person I worked with is actually known in some places and her name is different.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the feedback! What you see is what you get, especially with the ending. I take responsibility for the performances; I've since done a lot of improv training that I think greatly improved the direction I give.

Nathyn, her name is Caroline Brooks. She used to do a lot of acting in Austin, and now she's here in L.A. working on her career as a singer.

In the near future I'm going to write up a post-mortem on my blog, which I'll copy here so that folks can get some behind-the-scenes, making-of action.

Cheers!
