Greetings forumers, I just get my a7ii last month without a lens. I'm looking for a lens for video shooting during some event so I prefer a zoom. Do you guys have any recommended zoom lens(better with constant aperture) that comes in compact size?

much appreciated!

There are two Sony e-Mount lenses that are commonly used for video event shooting. The Sony 18-105 F4 and the Sony 18-200 f3.5-6.3 (Silver version). You will have to use them in APS-C mode. These lenses are by no means perfect but they do have their place if you want affordable, light zoom lenses.

If you head over to the Sony forum here that includes talk on the FS7 there is a lot of talk about lens choices. The opinions are quite varied on the issue.

thanks bro!

I think something that starts from 24 or 28 and then end between 70 to 105? I looked at the contax zeiss' 28-85 but it's too bulky.
Alright then, now that I know that.....
Here are what I see as your choices.

Canon 24-105 F4
Sigma 24-105 F4
Sony 18-105 F4 (Only can be used in Super 35 NOT Full Frame!)
The Sony lens is the lightest one, and is nice for what it is, but it has issues. I did a blog post and
review of it here:

The A7 cameras need a third crop to make this work.

If it had added a 2x+ crop mode then a single prime would do.

The only camera I know that does this is the Nikon D4/D4S.
