Compact Dvx100 Case??????

Hi,

I am a new panasonic dvx100B user and I'm in the market for the most compact compatable case I can get. Not a rain fly, an actual case. All the cases I seem to find are a bunch of inches bigger than the actual camera. I'm taking my very expensive to work with me as a forest fire fighter and I do not have the luxury of lugging around an oversize case. If I could find something that's only slightly bigger than the camera itself to strap to my backpack, that would be ideal.

Any suggestions? Thanks so much,

Hi Adam,

Most cases are designed with camera impact safety in mind. The more padded protection around the camera in the case, the better. You will also want space for accesories that come with the camera. Battery, remote, power charger & tapes. I use a pelican 1500 which is not very large at all. Very durable with water tight seal (being in the firefighting business that you are, water protection may come into play for you).

The smaller the case, the closer & tighter the exterior is to the camera. It gets dropped & whamo, your camera is damaged.
