FS5: commlite electronic nikon to emount ?

Dennis, not an answer for your question but who cares, just another opinion :-)

Did you notice this text in the advertisement: (Excluding SONY Camcorders)

The commlite adapter I use for my FS7 and Canon/Sigma 150-600S doesn't do much, no VR, no AF, certainly no auto Iris. Thus according to some people this must be a very professional adapter.
The metabones adapter I once lend was better. Even sent the lens metadata to the camera.

Interesting it says it works with a7sii, etc.. not sure I want to gamble $400 on something that might end up being nothing more then expensive dumb adapter.

That could be right I have one and used it just on the Sony a6000 I have. seems to work fine for iris, AF and VR. FWIW

I ordered one for my FS7 as a couple users on mentioned it worked with their FS5. I was able to control iris on all my Nikon lenses I used with it. I have a Tamron 70-200 VC and that lens with VC engaged did not function with this adapter. VC was jumping around constantly and after turning off the camera and turning it on the VC worked perfectly until I changed the iris, then it just went into berserk mode. Returned it. I hope once Nikon releases their large sensor mirrorless camera and the new nikon adapter to mount old lenses on it, it'll be re-engineered by these adapter companies to work on the e-mount.

Generally with these adapters it is best to stick with brand (Nikon) lenses. We had hell of a time making Tamrons compatible with our (Canon) adapters. There is a protocol difference in communication that needs to be programmed specifically for Tamrons. Sigma used to be the same way but the Art lenses are a lot more like the Canon Brand lenses. Nikon story is probably similar.

I have a FS7 MKII and the Commlite won't mount. Just by a couple of milimeters.. and doesn't do anything with my Nikon lenses. Works great on my A7RII so solid product. I am thinking the bayonet flanges are too fat? Maybe someone else has had better results with a locki ng FS7II?

It looks like the support foot may interfere. Maybe they will come out with the FS7/2 edition...
