Here is local Ad that I'm working on and thought I would post it to get my pals at DVXuser.com to help me finish it. There are some very creative minds in here, see if you can help me knock this project out.

The idea is the young kid walks into an empty recording studio, sees a guitar, picks it up and "wham" he is zapped into the future 10 years and begins ripping a cool riff on the guitar, then "wham" he's back to a kid.

I'm struggling with the VO...I want simple.

something like... "Where does your dream begin?" Any and all suggestions are welcome. Also add comments to the content of the video...do the shots work?

thanks,

epp,
have seen your video. honestly, i felt there are too many shots till he picks up the guitar. everything is good after he picks it up. i would also suggest you to slow down the whole footage (just before) upto "wham... he's back to a kid " shot.

here are a few suggestions,
1. after he walks down the hall, a dolly(skateboard shot) of the boy (from behind)walking towards the guitars in the studio.
cut
2.shot of the boy walking as seen from inside the recording room(boys face shown only from side)
cut
3.now, placing camera behind the guitar he is going to pick, the boy walks towards it.
(now only at this time can we see the boys face from front but slightly blurred but guitar in focus because of DOF)
till this shot do not show the boys face from the front.
cut
4.The boy picks it up.(he is in focus)

and also when i meant slowing down, its not like a slowmotion. but slower than normal till it looks good enough.

BTW, good work epp. and hey, what did u use to create those wave like lines in the end ?

thanks
krishna.

I thought it was spot on. My only issue was the tiny dust cloud as the very end. A little destracting to me.

Yay! Nice job!

Cool concept. There was something big missing...when the kid picks up the guitar, there needs to be a flash or change of some sort so the viewer feels they are transported with the kid to the future. It could be more believable.

Thanks,

I was actually trying to make the switch from young kid to older kid very subtle. I did have the color go from warm to cool if you notice. thanks for the ideas.

Used an Arri light kit. Couple of 650's and a 300 overhead.

Your not going to be able to find one for Vegas (I don't think). Trapcode's filters are plugins for After Effects.

Cool video! What did you do to get those "split second shots" where the highlights glow really bright and then back to normal? What plug-in is that?

And where did you get those wooshing sounds from? Did you create them yourself, If you did, how?

The effect that flashes bright to normal is "general convolution" found in FCP (comes with FCP). And the sound effects all came from Soundtrack Pro.

Dang Epp you stay busy my man! Looks cool. I love the shot of the boy walking down the hallway. I bet they will be pleased w/ it, considering the crappy production of the local cable, and TV stations, and I work at one of them...lol.

nice work, Epp... Is sound track pro strictly a mac product? if so, do you know of anything comparable in a pc format?
