Commercial shot with HVX 200

It's my first commercial I've ever shot. It's printed on film right now and will be shown in cinemas in my region (south west Germany). It's for a driving school (yeah not so exiting). Unfortunately, I wasn't involved in the writing of the "script" (if you want to call this one sentence story a script) or, even worse, the choice of the location.

Commercial 20MB

I'm happy about your comments

After watching it a couple of times, I finally got it...
Way to many CUs IMHO, will be hard to get at all for the people in the front rows...
Contrast was too high too for my taste, along with the blur ramp transitions it´s hard to see what´s going on in the frame.
But hey, your first spot will be shown somewhere, congrats!

Great look. If this was a American commercial the owner of the driving school would appear on camera (with a cowboy hat and an American flag) and yell 45 seconds of copy into a 30 second spot.

Spartacus, did you watch it in your computer monitor by any chance? Because it looks just fine in my production monitor. Pretty good stuff indeed, keep up the good work!

Cheers,

Gualbert

Thanks for replies and critics... that some people like it really cheers me up!
For the contrast... the problem is that I did the grading on a quite old CRT which I don't trust, so I'm happy if someone with a good monitor can tell me if it's to much.
Bye David

Chances are pretty good that i watch a streaming video on a computer screen, aren´t they hehehe ?
How did you get it on your production monitor, btw?

I still think David went overboard with the contrast and the CUs.
Maybe I´m simply missing an establishing shot or overshoulder.
I just had problems connecting the shots visually.
Especially shot number 4 confused me, with shot 5 not really helping things either.
I believe that shots in a commercial have to be clear and precise (if you´re telling a story that is) since everything happens so fast.

It nevertheless seems to works.
Just my 2c.
