Did this last August but have finally got the master:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEhVxHNRdz4

Shot 1920x1080i 25np at AVC Intra 100 into FCP at pro res native and out again at HQ.

Uploaded to you tube as apple tv 720p at 5mbs but it is now at around 1.5mbs.

I am really happy with the SD and HD quality on you tube and it shows really good blacks for the shoot that was done tungsten but with daylight balance to get the warm look. It was also done with BBC cine gamma pre sets.

Nice job, well done!

Just another example of how "those who can, do, and those who cannot, complain and criticize." I am referring to all the posts by people on other sites who stake claim to exaggerated credentials, criticize and demean the HPX300 and likely have no first-hand experience with the camera nor the results that it can produce in capable hands.

Ver nice especially with music beats and the footage. However did you white balans the HPX since to me the colour seems way to yellow. Liked the colour representation of the canon H11 much better but that is just my tast.

As I said in the post the colour balance was deliberately set to daylight even though it was lit with tungsten. The director wanted this and as you say it is a lot more yellow but that was to give the effect of the fire and a sunset type glow. We could have done it in post but it made sense to shoot this way to get the max definition into the camera and give a very saturated 35mm look. No grading has been done in post but we always had that in reserve if it was needed. I have just done a drama shoot where we did lots of day for night scenes and it was fun re-creating moonlight just using camera colour balance and dichroic filters on tungsten sources.

Thanks for posting the BTS video. I always like to see how other crews set things up and shoot a spot. Can you share with us the production cost of that spot? How many hours you where on set? Was the spot written by you or the client?

Thanks

Looks good, Gary. Interesting you did all of the color balancing in-camera - it works.

I'll be posting a spot I recently completed as well - stay tuned...
