Coming soon: 16-50mm f/3,5-5,6 OSS G zoom E-mount lens!

That must be a joke.

If not f2.8 constant a F3.5 constant would've been nice.

If true Sony just makes people even thankful for the adaptability of the E mount.
 
They had another rumor recently on that site saying there will be a 16-50 2.8 E mount lens. Really hoping that's true, it would instantly be my go-to lens (assuming it's good). I don't know about that website, seems like they think everything will be a pancake lens, i think it comes from them being more interested in the NEX5n and wanting smaller lenses. I guess Sony kind of has to worry about those users, but i hope they don't forget us FS100 and 700 users too! Need that 16-50 2.8!

The rumors are all over the place, some say 16-50/2.8, some say its a pancake - meaning it'll be ridiculously slow so who know's at this point? I'm not exactly looking to sell my SAL 16-50 + LAEA1 just yet. Nex needs faster glass, not more slow zooms - though I get the fact that Sony will sell far more $300 slow/small zooms to casual shooters over $800 f2.8 lenses. Still wish Sony would copy what Samsung has and is releasing for the NX line. They have most of the bases covered - from UWA to fast primes to tele.
