Come here often?

Assuming your scene is lit properly and there are no extraordinary shooting circumstances, what scene file settings do you check or adjust most often? What is your routine check list before you roll tape?

What's your sign?

Um, er... The only scene file setting I really look at while shooting is Master Ped, but I rarely even check that.

Every once in awhile, I'll drop my chroma level if there's something really bright and red in the shot (to avoid all the fun in post).

Scorpio... heh! And yeah, I like to check my power switch, right after taking the lens cap off to get rid of that really dark look. I wish I had thought about the chroma level in the Feb contest and that damn red heart candy box. I never could get rid of the nasties in most of those shots.

Vegas, and I used the chroma blur. It helped TONS, but there was still some left behind. Why cant valentine hearts be blue? (doh! Well, not blue like sad, but blue like veins look in your arm, haha!) Or yellow?

I usually always check and make sure that I am running at 24pa, next I take a look at the lighting, and white balance to the existing light, making any cool/warm shifts I need to using the color temp setting. I usually try and have all of my detail settings done before I go out, because aside from colors, I try to keep those constant. I actually have a few 24pa scene files set up with different gamma settings and the like so I can switch quickly and compare different looks. I almost always keep the shutter speed at 1/48 unless its absolutely impossible because of lighting extremes, or I am doing it for other reasons....I also have my zebra set at 100, and my viewfinder set to B&W so that I can focus easier. I have one of those nifty chamois eyepiece pads that's not only comfy, but it makes a light-proof seal around the ol' eye.
