Colours similar to the 7D

How could I set my colours so they are similar to the 7D colours in this video?

I haven't really noticed that any of the factory scene files seem to math it, I haven't had a chance to play around with Barry's either because it has been so rainy and overcast! Maybe there is a custom one I could make? Ideas?

First off -- your HMC150 can't do the low light of a 7D. The night shots in that video aren't possible.

Regarding the daylight at the opening, there wasn't much special going on there. That was very probably a standard picture profile on the 7D.

The general formula that works to match a 150 (or any Panasonic) with the standard picture style of the 7D (or any current Canon HDSLR) is to start off with the default Cine-V (F5). From there you can lower your master pedestal to further crush your blacks. I think, think, somewhere between -7 and -10 gives you that contrasty, Standard picture style of the Canon.

Beyond that are the standard adjustments you should already know to do to your scene file -- V.Detail to minimum, Detail to minimum or -6, coring at -2 for sharpness, coring at +2 for smoothness, etc.

Why not do it in post. More control that way.

Otherwise you might want to try playing with the Chroma level and Chroma phase and maybe the master ped. Also, was the above color balanced or did you use a preset? Regardless, it's hard to judge how the settings on the 7d would look in comparison without controlled lighting as mixed night lighting (street lights, security lights, etc) can output a variety of colors. There's a lot of magenta in that clip.

Personally I would try to shoot as clean and "flat" as possible and then CC the footage in post.
