Colour Space Problem

When I open footage with windows media player the colours look correct, and match the playback on the camera LCD. When I bring footage into vegas or after effects CS3 the colours look wrong, with a very magenta hue. I've tried every colour space setting in AE and nothing will make the footage match camera playback. Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

What do you mean by "very magenta hue"? and "colours look wrong"

Is it subtle, like the difference between BT.709/601 , or are you taking a very big difference here ?

Maybe posting some screenshots to illustrate would help

The other thing it could be is your graphics card settings. There are 2 types of settings on graphics cards. One is for the "desktop" settings, the other is for the "overlay" settings.

WMP in default configuration is governed by the "overlay" settings , AE, premiere and vegas use the "desktop" settings. When people "calibrate" their monitors they often do it for 1 but forget about the other.

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like the desktop vs overlay could be the source, I've been using the "calibrize" app for monitor calibration. I will look into it thanks.

EDIT thank you so much, you nailed it. Calibrize adjustments were not being applied to WMP.
