Colossal PIX240 issue with ProRes 422

I just upgraded my PIX 240 to 1.07 and apart from the many other fixes I really like the fact that SD has improved the 240's screen video, much better now, doesn't have that S-Log look.

On another issue there's something that I've been bugging SD about since I got my PIX 240, and that concerns the choice of Sony L batteries for the power source.
For us F3 users it would be a whole lot better if we could use our camera BPU's to power the 240, that way we'd only have to carry one battery type and one charger. Wouldn't that be great?
I've asked SD many times why they will not offer this battery plate upgrade / option, they tell me that it's a relatively easy fix and if the plate was produced it could be installed by the owner.....But so far, there's no sign of one.
If you're a F3 owner and you'd like this to happen, be a "squeaky wheel" with SD. It's a great company and usually very responsive. I for one would greatly welcome being able to use just one battery type with my kit.

in version 2, should i still be concerned about the 'psf ---> 'p issue, or has this been addressed and resolved?

Are you referring to the sound picture sync issue or the horizontal artifacts? I believe the sync issue was resolved some versions ago? There is a also workaround listed for the horizontal artifacts. From experience, it doesn't usually take Sound Devices long to sort issues out as soon as they've identified them. I'm well impressed with how improved the PIX units are from the originals - even the monitor has now become a useful and usable addition! SD's support is a credit to the industry. Firmware fixes and changes for each version are listed here:

i was referring to the horizontal artifacts. i noticed the work-around on the firmware page, but had thought this had been addressed.

The issue was addressed in firmware 1.09 and has been fine in version 2 as well. I can confirm that the PIX records flawlessly now. The workaround was for version prior to 1.09 but the suggestions for how to record are still accurate.

i wasn't sure on my first day of this project, so i used the pull-down method.
