This is an old article (from 2009), but it's one of the first about using colors in movies that really stuck with me (plus it's about one of my favorite movies). I thought it would be a fitting way to kick off this new part of DVXUser.

For me, one of the most interesting things about it is the choice to invert convention and have cool tones represent safety and warm tones represent danger and how the audience buys into it even though it goes against what they've 'learned' watching other films. I find the parts of filmmaking that work more on a subconscious level to be some of the most interesting.
