Colornoise/blocks

I'm trying to put together the best possible incamera settings to get the best image possible for postproduction.

Right now my settings are

Gamma: Cinelike
Matrix: Norm1
Detaillevel: -1
MasterPed: +4

I am able to reduce noise in post to the degree of it looking very good.
But one thing I can't get rid of is the colornoise/blocks.
You know, the red, sometimes green blocks that sometimes occur on plain surfaces in lowlights. When I removed the noise, the colorblocks are very visible and they are the only thing that really bothers me.

On monday, I'm doing a full service of my camera, so my recording heads etc. will be cleaned. But if there's something that I can do in-camera that can help prevent the colornoise, that would be really good to know.
I'm pushing the contrast quite a bit in post, so the colornoise/blocks looks invisible on the original footage sometimes, but do appear when I'm doing the colorgrading.

Any suggestions on how to get the sharpest and cleanest image possible?
(I'm using the DVX100E by the way)

Get Barrys book...THe "Blocks" are caused by over saturated images. ADjust your chroma phase and chroma level and if u bring them to negatives, u can get rid of the blocks. In post, u can desaturate the image by taking color away, and that will get rid of the blocks, but ur taking color away.

But, if I shoot with them on negative, can I saturate some more in post to get the colors back, without the noise and blocks?

yes. this color blocking is something i experience when i bought my macbook pro. I wanted to pick it up and learn the world of mac. I installed final cut pro, imported footage, and voila! the horrors of the red blocking and saturated blocking came true, something i never experienced when it captures at avi on a PC.
