Color rendition?

Granted my DVX renders brighter and more realistic colors than my old 1chip cam could ever do. Red's are actually red, greens are greens, and blues are blue.
But when I pull out a digital camera, like my Digital Rebel XT, the colors still look better than the DVX. When I compare the two, it almost looks like there's a grey filter over the DVX footage.
Why is the color rendition on my RebelXT better and more realistic than on the DVX? Is it the size of the individual pixels? Is it the 4:1:1 compression? Other?

thanks:thumbsup:

4:1:1 doesn't help but what colro curve do you have set?
Just as with the Canon you can increase/decrease saturation in thw camera or in psot

The greyness you refer to is due to cinegamma (I'm guessing). Try boosting the contrast in post or use cinelike-V and see if that helps.

Canon Rebel and the rest of the Canon digi cameras are known to be on the saturated side according to digital photography Forums
