Color issue

I sometimes shoot stage performances with my DVX. I get the levels set in the beginning and all looks good, but once they add a little bit of blue or red in the lights, the colors get thrown to the extreme. Like the other night, they added a little blue light (just a hint), and my image was waaaaayyyyyy too blue.

Is there any way to set the camera up so this doesn't happen?

That's usually what has to be done. I was just wondering if anything else could be done in the camera.
 
when i am filming a band on stage i tend to keep white balance auto on 5.6k and it seems to cope well with different coloured lights.
sure sometimes there can be a lot of red or blue but that is how the stage looks at the time
