Hi guys here is my color grading demo reel, most of the footage is from the FS700 except the scenes with the jeep in the desert (Black magic pocket)
Everything else is the sony with Zeiss lenses. Opinions would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks
Mike

I think you did a great job. Especially the desert scenes.
In some shots i found it too contrasty, but thats my taste.

Did you shoot RAW or AVCHD? SLOG2? What did you grad with?

cheers

Thank you, everything was shot avchd and graded with resolve. I'm looking at upgrading the sony with Q7 package in order to get over the 8 bits limitation and of course tha ability to grade RAW. I don't have the cinelog2 yet so I created a custom PP following some of the flattest settings I could find online and modifying to taste.

Thanks again and yes 8bit is really frustrating ! I do agree on some images being a bit too contrasty, the client really wanted it to pop, I should have made 2 versions , his and the correct one;)

I enjoyed seeing your footage brought to life with your grading. Seems like the codec is holding you back a bit, especially in contrasty scenes, but like you said you are going to start recording externally soon so it will sort itself out. Overall, I'd say A+ man.

if you're looking to land a job in a vfx house:
get rid of all the before after - that's noob. no full time colorist has that in his reel. no one cares about before. they clicked on your reel to see good looking footage.
show what kind of moods you can set.
show a variety of grades. shot 1 and 4 is the same. if you need to show the same shot again - change the mood.
