Color Correction Attempt // A7S, Default PP7 (SLOG2)

Here's my first attempt at color correcting the default PP7 setting on the A7S.

I simply used the built-in color correction adjustments in CS5.5.2.

I'm not an expert by any means in this department, but I thought I'd post my results anyhow:

Original Default PP7 (SLOG2):

First applied RGB Color Corrector (Red Gain = 1.09, Green Gain = 1.02, Blue Gain = 1.09):

...then applied Brightness & Contrast ( Brightness = -9.3, Contrast = +20.1):

...then applied Fast Color Corrector (Used color wheel until colors looked 'right' to my eye, Input Black Level = 22.09):

...then appiled Three-Way Color Wheel (Tonal Range = Midtones, Used middle wheel to get rid of remaining green cast):

...then applied a second Three-Way Color Wheel (Tonal Range = Midtones, Used middle wheel to add a slight hint of green back):

Not bad! Especially for a first time attempt with slog2. It's a really tough space to color.
Looks a little too magenta to me, so see what you think of this:

(used my rec70ish lut, and added quick color corrector and pulled the whole image a bit towards blue/magenta)

Of course your graded image is a good look and might be exactly what you're after, just thought I'd throw this into the conversation as an option.

Whoa, that is very good! What did you do to color correct?

only used lumetri color correction inside premiere, first you have to get the wb right using the warm/cold and the green/magenta sliders, after that you just add contrast to taste with all the other sliders, finally you can add a preset lumetri look in the creative tab.

cheers
