I am finishing a feature I shot on the DVX100 which has just been accepted to a few of the big film festivals and I could use some advice. I am more of the story/actor type director than a techincal one, so I am nervous about some of the finishing stuff.
I will have to screen the film in proper theatres, most of which accept HD or 16, or 35mm.
My question is two fold.
1) I am using the 'digital film tools' plug ins in FCP to color correct myself for now (at least to provide something to a proper colorist as a guiding point). Will using these type of filters cause me problems when I go to blow up? Are there certain ones I should look out for in particular?
2) We don't have distribution yet and I'd rather wait till we do to fully blow up to 35mm which will cost a bunch. What's my best bet to get the highest quality screening of my DV footage on the big screen? are there up res programs or is going from DV to HD cheaper?
Thanks in advance, I am getting into areas I don't know much about here, and I am trying to learn as quickly as possible. You all seem incredibly knowledgeable on this site.
